Why Should I Use Promotional Products?
A Study of American Consumers Shows:
Consumers LOVE promotional products! For more than 200 years these promotional tools have integrated their way into daily life, serving as use tools AND powerful, long-lasting advertising.
How Consumers Feel:
83% of American consumers surveyed like receiving a promotional product with an advertising message.
48% would like to receive promotional items more often.
38% feel promotional items serve as a constant reminder of the advertiser.
How Consumers Act:
People were asked,
"If free promotional items were being handed out by an advertiser at an event/mall/tradeshow which of the following would they most likely take?"
23% would pick up a promotional item regardless of what it was
69% would pick up a promotional product if they found it to be useful
5% would pick up a promotional product if the found it attractive
1% would pick up a promotional product if they thought it was a collectible
3% would not pick up a promotional product
The Result:
Consumers are inundated with advertising messages and businesses are challenged to find a way to cut through the clutter, reach their target audience AND resonate with them.
Respondents were asked to think of a promotional product they had received in the last two years and recall three key pieces of information"
What was the item?
What was the message?
Who was the advertiser?
A whopping 76% answered all three questions - only 53% of the same group could recall the name of a single advertiser they had seen in a magazine or newspaper in the past week.
In Addition:
52% did business with the advertiser after receiving the promotional product.
52% also had a more positive image of the advertiser and were more likely to recommend the business to someone else.
The Takeaway:
Consumers...
LIKE promotional items.
KEEP and USE promotional items.
RECALL the message and the advertiser on promotional items.
DO BUSINESS with the advertiser on promotional items.
RECOMMEND the advertiser to others.
So I Guess the Real Question Is...
